Asia boasts much potential to become not only an important producer but also a large consumer of media on a global scale. In recognition of this great potential, the Asian Digital Art Awards were begun in 2001 in Fukuoka. Fukuoka has deep historical roots with the surrounding Asiatic region. These awards aim both to promote Asia's rich intellectual resources to the rest of the world, and to nurture ever higher quality digital design throughout the region.
Last year, participants from various areas covering 16 different nations or regions submitted 825 works for display at the Asian Digital Art Awards. Art audiences were able to view a high standard of works displaying a sophisticated understanding of the digital art genre here in Fukuoka, a flourishing center of creative digital art and communications.
This year we are once again proud to invite artists from throughout Asia to submit ambitious artworks blending rational concepts with rich artistic spirit, in computer graphics and other various digital media technologies.
